Ursuline Women's Teachers' Training College, Lohardaga is established, run and managed by the Ranchi Ursuline Society. It is a Christian religious minority institution established and administered according to the provisions of article 30 of the Constitution of India.
The college was affiliated until further order in 1981 by undivided Bihar Governtment. Later in the year 2010 it obtained Permanent affiliation by Jharkhand Government, Department of Human Resource Development. It is also recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Bhubaneswar for 2 years B.Ed. course with intake of 2 units of 50 each and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC) and M.Ed. Being a Catholic institution it goals and activities are pervaded with a strong sense of God who alone gives meaning to life..
The College offers Master of Education degrees (coming session) through concentrations which exemplify best practices in the preparation of educational practitioners. Because of the College of Education's strong commitment to scholarship and research, these practitioner preparation concentrations have a special character which is reflected in their solid grounding in current educational theory and research, in their consistency with national standards for exemplary practitioner preparation, and in their commitment to innovation and experimentation.
